Giving Aircraft a Purpose does just what the title suggests, rewards you for building aircraft and meeting milestones, also gives you airline contracts to earn money shuttling Kerbals around. I'm pretty happy with them:Įxploration Plus is a stock-alike contract pack that gets rid of a lot of the repetitive crap like docking two craft together in orbit every time you visit a new planetary body. These are the contract packs I've been using. They still work, you just have to set CKAN to see the older versions as compatible. You'll want to pay attention to the 'older mods' section of the video since a lot of these contract packs and their required mods aren't updated. CKAN makes the whole process a lot easier since it will grab dependencies for you and put everything in the right place. If you don't know how to get mods, check out this video. The stock contracts aren't terrible, but career mode is just so much better with modded contracts. More contracts available means more ways to earn money, but also allows you to be more selective. To make career mode more rewarding I really suggest getting some mods to expand and replace stock contracts. Maybe it's a little cheaty but I play the game to challenge myself and have fun, not to spend an hour redoing a contract because I forgot to drain the oxidizer out of a tank before launch or some dumb shit like that. That's what I usually do if I run into a contract that won't complete or I miss some trivial condition that adds nothing to the challenge of the contract and only serves to waste my time having to re-do it. It's a sandbox game, so if you feel that you have completed the contract to your satisfaction, just hit alt-F12, go to the contracts submenu, then active, then complete it. I generally avoid those contracts since they're 'filler' that are just there to grind out money, and they also tend to be the pickiest about conditions.Īlso, sometimes contracts are just buggy. Sometimes the part testing contracts work better if you right click on the part in question and then select "Run test" or whatever, rather than staging it at the correct time. Sometimes to complete one condition, another one has to be met first. You can check the contracts list on the sidebar, you have to make sure the subconditions are all green. If they're just stock missions, chances are you are missing a sub-condition for completion. I'm honestly about to just give up with the majority of this game and just land on the moon in sandbox and say that's that. No other requirements are listed, literally just return from orbit and test a decoupler. I had this exact same thing happen with a parachute contract that I had to throw out. I tried doing it with space bar and nothing, tried clicking on it on a second attempt and nothing. Going back to the decoupler one, all of ass me to do is to activate a decoupler through the staging or whatever. I mess that up numerous times but eventually I get to the point where I'm over 100K meters out from my highest point and then i come back to earth. I've accepted one contract telling me to return from orbit, so I try and make it so I'm orbiting around the earth in a perfect circle. I'm getting really frustrated that I just got this game and can't even complete the easiest, most basic, 1 star difficulty contracts that I've me stuff like "test a decoupled" for a task and won't complete.
